Summer is around the corner, and it is the perfect time to enjoy refreshing cool drinks. Nothing can give your body more coolness and satisfaction than a cold, delicious drink when the sun is in its highest glory. Drinks are very hydrating and are a great way to give your body extra water with deliciousness.


Given below are some of the best summer drinks that soothe your body in the hot weather and provide nutrition to your tired body parts. The best part is that these drinks are not only delicious but are also healthy. You can have these drinks to give an icy cold start to your day or in the evening with snacks without worrying of gaining extra pounds.


1. Iced tea

Tea is everyone's favorite. Iced tea is a cooler and healthier version of regular tea.

To make Iced Tea, Heat 2 glasses of water on the stove for 30 seconds, add a half tablespoon of tea leaves and further heat it for 1 minute. Remove the tea leaves and let it cool for 10-15 minutes. Now, pour it in a glass and add one tablespoon of honey and stir it well. Serve it chilled with ice cubes floating on the top.

It is suggested not to use sugar in your tea as it can make you gain weight. Honey is the best substitute for sugar as it contains fewer calories as compared to sugar. If you don’t like plain tea, you can also add a few drops of lemon juice to the drink to give it a little flavour.




2. Honey Ginger Soda

Honey water is the best way to lose weight, and it can do wonders if ginger is added to this drink. Sparkling water or soda has its own benefits of being free of any kind of sugar content, this makes Honey Ginger Soda one of the best drinks. Let’s see how this drink is prepared.


To make this drink, get a couple of peeled fresh ginger, grate it in a plate or bowl. Now, transfer the grated ginger in a strainer and squeeze it to extract the fresh ginger juice. Keep it aside. Now, take a quarter glass of chilled sparkling water, add a tablespoon of honey to it and stir it well. Add a tablespoon of fresh ginger juice and fill the glass with chilled sparkling water, top it with some ice cubes and your drink is ready!


3. Spiced buttermilk

Buttermilk has lower fat as compared to regular milk. It is rich in vitamin and mineral content and works as an excellent digestive aid. Buttermilk can be easily prepared with the help of curd. Spiced buttermilk can be the best drink in the summer season.


Take 2 cups of curd and pour it in a deep bowl. Now, add a little bit of cumin seeds powder, ginger, and green chilli paste and black salt to taste and stir it well. Take 4 cups of chilled water, pour it in the curd bowl and whisk it well to bring it in the liquid state or buttermilk. For the tempering, heat some oil in a small pan and add cumin seeds. When the seeds start crackling, add asafoetida (Heeng) and pour this tempering over the prepared buttermilk. Garnish it with freshly chopped coriander and serve it chilled.
