White rice can affect your blood sugar levels. Most people with diabetes keep an eye on their sugar intake, but starches from white rice, potatoes and even whole grains can also raise blood sugar levels.


All foods containing carbohydrates can affect your diabetes severely.




If your blood sugar levels fluctuate a lot or if you have just been detected with diabetes, you should not worry at all. Try focusing on the food sources which you can eat straight from the home kitchen. Here is a list of foods you must have, which would help you manage your blood sugar better.


Foods with a high glycemic index of 70 and above cause your blood sugar levels to rise within a short span, which can damage your blood vessels and nerves and can, over time, add to heart disease, kidney disease & blindness.
